Project Overview
The Challenge
When Cochren & Co. approached us with their single “The Lows,” they weren’t looking for a typical performance video. The song explores the emotional reality that sometimes you have to walk through the lows in life to fully appreciate the highs but God is with you through it all.
They needed visuals that could capture that contrast. The tone had to feel mysterious, slightly unsettling, but still peaceful and grounded. The concept had to reflect the grit and beauty in the message without relying on a literal storyline.
Our Approach
The Solution
To bring the song’s atmosphere to life, we shot in a blackbox studio and used a single accent light overhead to create strong contrast and intense shadows. That setup gave us full control over the mood, helping us paint with light and movement.
Instead of building a narrative, we focused on layered performance. We brought in the band’s guitarist to match the song’s instrumental presence and add visual intrigue. Two dancers added a sense of ethereal motion, moving freely in response to the airy, grungy tone of the track.
The result was a piece that didn’t just echo the music. It deepened it.
