How to Give Partner Access to Your Meta Business Assets

To help someone manage your Facebook, Instagram, ads, pixels, and other Meta business tools, they will need partner access to the correct assets inside your Meta Business Portfolio.

Partner access allows your business to keep ownership of your accounts while giving them the permissions needed to manage, publish, advertise, track, and optimize on your behalf.

Before You Begin

Please make sure you have:

  • Admin access to your Meta Business Portfolio
  • Access to the Facebook Page, Instagram account, ad account, pixel, catalog, or other assets you want to share
  • Company’s Business ID

How to Add a Partner

  1. Go to Meta Business Settings.
  2. In the left-hand menu, find Users and select Partners.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Choose Give a partner access to your assets.
  5. Enter Business ID.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select the assets you want them to access. This may include:
    • Facebook Page
    • Instagram Account
    • Ad Account
    • Pixel
    • Domain
    • Catalog
    • Dataset
    • Other connected business assets
  8. Assign the appropriate permissions for each asset. For most social media and advertising management, Wander Creative may need access to manage content, create ads, view performance, and make optimizations.
  9. Once all assets and permissions have been selected, click Save Changes.

What Access Should I Give?

The access needed depends on the work your partner is doing for your account.

For social media management, we typically need access to your Facebook Page and Instagram account.

For paid ads, we typically need access to your ad account, Facebook Page, Instagram account, pixel, domain, and any relevant catalogs or datasets.

For reporting and optimization, we may also need permission to view insights, campaign performance, and tracking data.

Important Note

You are not transferring ownership of your accounts. You are simply granting partner access so our team can support your account. Your business keeps ownership and can update or remove access at any time inside Meta Business Settings.

Partial access

  • Content: Create, manage or delete posts, stories and more as the Page.
  • Community activity: Review and respond to comments, remove unwanted content and report activity.
  • Messages: Send and respond to messages as the Page.
  • Ads: Create, manage and delete ads for the Page.
Insights: See how the Page, content and ads perform.

Full control

Giving full control of the Page to a partner means they can manage everything except the most sensitive actions. They can switch into the Page to manage tasks directly on Facebook or via business tools. They can give access to others and remove anyone from the Page.

A partner can’t, however, do the following:

  • Delete the Page
  • Deactivate the Page
  • Add the Page to a business portfolio
  • Remove the Page from a business portfolio
  • Connect an Instagram account to the Page
  • Disconnect an Instagram account from the Page
  • Download the Page’s information
  • Manage app settings for advanced messaging
  • Manage branded content settings and untag your Page from a post
  • Create, read, update and delete Facebook group guides and reorder posts

How to Give Someone Access to Your Facebook Page

Need to add a team member, agency partner, or collaborator to your Facebook Page? Follow these steps to grant access without sharing your personal login information.

Before You Get Started

You must have Facebook access with full control to add, edit, or remove another person’s access. You’ll also need to switch from your personal Facebook profile into the Page you want to manage.

Add Someone to Your Facebook Page

  1. Log in to Facebook on a computer.
  2. Click your profile photo in the top-right corner.
  3. Select See all profiles, then choose the Facebook Page you want to manage.
  4. Click the Page’s profile photo in the top-right corner.
  5. Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.
  6. In the left-hand menu, select Page setup.
  7. Click Page access.
  8. Under People with Facebook access, click Add New.
  9. Click Next, then search for the person using the name or email address connected to their Facebook account.
  10. Select the correct person and choose the level of access you’d like to provide.

Partial Control

Partial control allows someone to help manage areas such as content, messages, comments, ads, and insights without giving them complete administrative authority.

Full Control

Full control allows someone to manage every part of the Page. This may include adding or removing other people, changing settings, removing your access, or deleting the Page.

Only give full control to people you know and trust.

  1. Click Give Access.
  2. Enter your Facebook password and click Confirm.

The person will receive an invitation that they’ll need to accept before they can begin managing the Page.

Edit or Remove Someone’s Access

Return to:

Settings & privacy → Settings → Page setup → Page access

Find the person whose permissions you need to update and select the available options next to their name. From there, you can adjust their access or remove them from the Page.

Don’t See the Page Access Option?

First, confirm that:

  • You switched into the correct Facebook Page.
  • Your account has full control of the Page.
  • You are logged into the correct personal Facebook account.

Pages connected to a Meta Business Portfolio may require access to be managed through Meta Business Suite instead.

Meta changes its menus from time to time, so some labels or screen layouts may look slightly different from the steps above.
