Let’s start with where you are from, what you like to do outside of work, what are some of your personal interests and hobbies that help you stay balanced and inspired?

I am originally from Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I enjoy cooking and a good house project or game night. I have a Bernese Mountain dog named Henry. We go hiking in the creek by our house and spend a lot of time throwing tree stumps in for him to get.

Share a bit about your career journey and what led you to your current role as Director of Operations at Wander Creative?

My career started with over 15 years in radio including co-hosting the morning show on WAY-FM with Brant Hansen and Wally and serving as music director. I had the opportunity to help grow a nonprofit coffeehouse called The Well throughout Nashville and Indiana. I met Matt, Wander‘s owner, on tour over a decade ago and have been able to watch the company launch and grow. I love getting to bring my music industry background and business knowledge to help further that growth and mission.

What are some of the most common issues you see with clients and how Wander approaches fixing those issues?

Most people need expertise and hands to help execute the strategy. Social media and digital marketing is crucial no matter what industry you’re in and it’s constantly changing. I love watching our staff craft and execute creative, professional and strategic marketing and content.  Not only lighten the load of our clients but do it to with expertise.

How do you approach team management and collaboration within Wander Creative?

There have been some core beliefs that have shaped my approach.
  • I believe our staff is our biggest asset. I want to intentionally invest in them and invite them in on process of their own personal and career development.
  • I believe you have to intentionally set the culture you want to create. Efficient, healthy and thriving don’t just happen. It is a payout of investment.
  • Everybody has unique skills that they can knock out of the park like no one else. Leadership is finding what those are in people and getting them in the right place in the team.
